    Objective of the position

    Use of strategic sourcing activities and best practices for allocated categories with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reduction while maintaining and improving product quality and supplier service levels.



    Key Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of procurement, including sourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and implement best practices in supply chain management.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to supply chain operations.
  • Stay abreast with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Manage and develop a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance training, and support as needed.
  • Manage the end-to-end importation process, including coordinating with suppliers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective importation of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with all import regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements, staying abreast with changes and updates to minimize risks and maximize opportunities.
  • Develop and implement import logistics strategies to optimize transportation routes, minimize lead times, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including purchasing, warehousing, and sales teams, to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor and analyze import logistics performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers, negotiating contracts and service agreements to optimize costs and service levels.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and records related to importation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices in import logistics and supply chain management.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to import logistics and supply chain management, providing recommendations and guidance to leadership as needed.



    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' work experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent analytical skills, negotiation skills, communication, and people management skills
  • Understanding of supply chain and logistics best practises.
