    Job Summary:


    The Accounts Officer is responsible for authentication, allocation and integrity of financial accounts, schedules, plans and documentations in line with relevant ad hoc financial objectives.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Finance Operations management:

    Manage company finances including timely monthly reconciliations, monthly reports and management analysis, VAT returns and the annual financial statements.

    Ongoing management of project accounting processes ensuring these processes maximize company's financial outcomes.
    Perform monthly bank reconciliations at month end.
    As the bank agent, coordinate all banking transactions.
    Ensure all intercompany transactions are accurately posted.


    Credit Control – Account Receivables:
    Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner.
    Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email and letter within agreed timescales.
    Regularly making contact with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.
    Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within agreed terms.
    Ensure monthly processing of invoice deadlines are met as required.
    Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed.

    Debt Control Management – Accounts Payable:
    Ensure that purchase orders are correct and accurate in terms of pricing.
    Ensure that creditors accounts are reconciled, and creditors paid in good time.


    Budget Management:
    Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets.
    Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
    Recommend adjustments to ensure financial goals are met.


    Risk Management:
    Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
    Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
    Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.


    Annual Audit Management:
    Maintain records as appropriate for the audits and compliance as well as day to day use.
    Assist in preparation of annual audits and responding to queries raised by the auditors.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
    Proven experience of at least 2 years as an accountant in finance & accounts department.
    Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards.
    Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    Advanced proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
    Should have a good track record of unquestionable integrity.
    Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
    Ability to work as part of the team and build relationships with others within the organization.
