    BasiGo is an e-mobility start-up looking to revolutionize the public transportation sector by providing public transport bus owners with a cost-effective electric alternative to diesel.

    Summary


    As an EV Bus Line Quality Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of assembly of our electric buses.

    Your primary responsibilities will encompass ensuring that each BasiGo vehicle locally assembled meets the highest quality standards, so that our customers and passengers receive vehicles that meet our expectations for performance, safety, and reliability.

    You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and design, to develop a comprehensive quality management system, identify and resolve quality issues, implement process improvements, and help in delivering the best electric buses in Kenya.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Quality Inspection:
    Supervise and document incoming CKD kit deliveries and quality documentation.
    Implement and supervise any IQC processes for both overseas and local supply parts

    Monitor and conduct thorough inspections of EV buses at various stages of the assembly process in conjunction with the Contract Assembler Quality Team.

    Identify and document defects, deviations, and non-conformities in production and work with OEM and contract assembler to resolve such defects.

    Utilize standard inspection tools, equipment, and testing procedures to assess quality.


    Process Improvement:
    Work closely with assembly teams to identify root causes of quality issues.
    Collaborate on and help implement process improvements to prevent future quality problems.
    Assist in the development of standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency in the production process, with supervision and input from the Vehicle Assembly Engineer


    Documentation:
    Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, test results, and defect reports.
    Generate reports and provide analysis on quality control data.
    Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive quality control database.


    Compliance:
    Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
    Ensure that all assembled units adhere to relevant regulatory requirements.


    Training:
    Provide training and guidance to production line staff on quality control processes and techniques


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
    Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance, in the automotive industry.
    Strong knowledge of quality control tools and methodologies (ISO , IATF 16949, Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, etc.).
    Proficiency in using quality testing equipment and tools.
    Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
    Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
    Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
    Familiarity with electric vehicle technology and safety standards .
