    Description

    Department: Quality.

    Reporting to: Quality Manager



    Position Overview.

    Quality assurance and quality control.

    Responsible for monitoring and evaluating internal production processes and examining products to determine quality.



    Qualifications.

    Education: Diploma in Mechanical engineering.

    Experience: 5 years' experience.

    Skills: Quality management, supervisory skills.



    Duties and Responsibilities.

    Quality Management.


    • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.


    • Devise and establish a company's quality procedures, standards and specifications.


    • Oversee the product manufacturing and re-validation process to ensure quality.


    • Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.


    • Ensure that all products are compliant with the set statutory standards.


    • Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.


    • Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards.


    • Examining the quality of raw materials and spare parts acquired.


    • Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements


    • Ensure quality control tests are done.


    • Approve the right products or reject defectives/products that fail quality standards.


    • Evaluate all rejected products.


    • Improving production efficiency and managing waste.


    • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.


    • Undertake continuous training and development.


    • Conducting regular quality inspections.

    Documentation and Reporting.


    • Ensure the various quality logs are filled on a daily basis.


    • Submit detailed daily/weekly and monthly quality control reports such as number of rejects, number of leaking cylinders, breakdown reports, and raw material consumption reports to the management.


    • Report quality standard issues to management.


    • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.


    • Conduct quality audits on a quarterly basis.



    Health and Safety


    • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations.



    Employee Management.


    • Manage, coach and develop a high performing Quality team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements


    • Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.


    • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.


    • Conduct annual performance appraisals for the quality team.



    Other Roles.


    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
