JOB SUMMARY

Requirements for appointmentDiploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, or Kenya Registered Nursing in Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;Higher Diploma in Mental Health or it's equivalent from a recognized institutionValid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya;Two (2) years' work experience in mental health and Psychiatry care.Proficiency in computer applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes;Providing appropriate healthcare services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care and delivery,Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs;Referring patients and clients appropriately;Facilitating patients' admission and initiating discharge plans;Maintaining records on patients/clients' health condition and care; ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; andCollecting and compiling data.Performing any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.Handling and providing nursing care to mental health patients
