    Job Summary


    We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Japanese Chef to join our team and lead us in creating exceptional Japanese cuisine.

    You will be responsible for crafting authentic dishes, maintaining the highest quality standards, and inspiring a team environment in our fast-paced kitchen.


    Responsibilities:


    Develop and implement daily and seasonal specials that showcase the diverse flavors and techniques of Japanese cuisine, aligned with our restaurant's specific style.

    Prepare a wide variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, noodle dishes, and traditional accompaniments.

    Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and authenticity of all dishes, adhering to the principles of Washoku (Japanese culinary art).

    Maintain a meticulous and organized sushi bar (if applicable) with exceptional knife skills and proper handling of fresh seafood.

    Manage and train kitchen staff, delegating tasks, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment.

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to source high-quality Japanese ingredients.

    Contribute to menu planning and recipe development, focusing on incorporating seasonal and regional specialties.

    Adhere to portion control and minimize food waste.

    Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

    Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.

    Possess a deep understanding of Japanese culinary traditions and the importance of umami (savory taste) in Japanese cuisine.


    Qualifications:


    Minimum 3 years of experience working in a professional Japanese kitchen, preferably with experience in your specific style (e.g., sushi chef, teppanyaki chef, etc.).

    Strong knowledge of Japanese ingredients, cooking techniques, and proper handling of raw fish.

    Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of Japanese dishes with precision and artistic flair.

    Excellent knife skills and a meticulous approach to cleanliness and presentation.

    Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Fluency or strong proficiency in Japanese is a plus.
