    JOB SUMMARY

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONSDiploma in KRCHN/ Bachelor of Science in Nursing.Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse training.Valid ACLS and BLS training certificate.At least 2 years' experience as a General Nurse and 2 Years' experience as a Perioperative Nurse in busy hospital setup.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supervising and ensuring delivery of a professional and high standard of nursing care within the theatre while leading a team of nurses and theatre technicians in delivering individual and team targets.Ensuring all planned departmental activities is geared towards meeting growth and quality objectives in theatre department.Monitor and ensure client satisfaction and proactively manage their complaints as they arise.Evaluate and ensure that nursing care plans are scientific; evidence based and address the priority needs of the patients.Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all assets in theatre.Review and approve monthly work schedule (ROTA) to ensure compliance with policy and adequate shift planning and Rota management for nursing and nursing support staff in the department has adequate cover at all times.Actively engage with doctors and other care providers to get feedback on the quality of nursing care in the unit.Monitor and ensure that documentation within the units meets the required quality standards.Participate in formulation and ensure implementation of organizational and departmental policies and procedures (SOPs) and quality Improvement Plans in the section including infection prevention.Identify systems and operational problems and trends for improvement and prepare statistical indicators, reports, findings, propose and implement solutions.Providing leadership, ensuring employee development (including coaching and mentorship), employee engagement and performance management to deliver departmental objectives and goals.Ensure effective communication between staff, patients and members of their families regarding plan of care of their patients.Managing the Nursing budget within the agreed parameters by ensuring efficient resources utilization and taking charge of cost control.Participate in business development and marketing activities and follow-up on customer feedback.Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.
