ABOUT THE COMPANY
Tourism Fund is a body corporate established under the Tourism Act, 2011 which came into operation on 1st September, 2012 vide special issue Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 93 of 24th August, 2012. The Fund is the legal successor to Catering and Tourism Development Levy Trustees.
JOB SUMMARY
Academic qualificationsMasters Degree in Strategic Management, Project management, Finance, Entrepreneurship Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Development, Development Studies, International Relations, Public Administration and Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institutionBachelors Degree in Communications, Strategic Management, Project management, Finance, Entrepreneurship Marketing, Public Relations, Business Development, Development Studies, International Relations, Public Administration and Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodiesi. Proficiency in computer applications;ii. A leadership Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;iii. Being a member of a relevant professional body is an added advantage;Previous relevant work experience required.At least Ten (10) years work experience in Resource Mobilization and partnership development in public service or private sector, five (5) of which must be in a management position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise on all matters resource mobilization and strategic partnerships creation and on all matters funding tourism product development and opportunitiesGuides in liaison with the Director in the establishment, growth and engagement of strategic partnerships in resource mobilization for funding tourism product development and develop agenda items for management on issues of funding tourism product development and resource mobilizationSpearheads the establishment and maintenance of prioritized national portfolio of product development potentials and opportunitiesLeads the review of guidelines and criteria for prioritizing and profiling funding tourism product development opportunitiesGuides preparation of reports on tourism product development and pitches for networking development partners and reviews the developed reportsSteers profile capacity building opportunities with a keen interest on product development by improving standards and service delivery quality in the sectorOversees the development of moderate and quality assure draft Board Papers of the DepartmentCoordinate the review and implementation of business proposals for funding tourism product development function;Ensure quality vetting and prioritizing of tourism product development proposals;Coordinate funding programmes and effective management of funded project/programmes for optimal revenue generation;Steer the development/ review and execution of sector/ stakeholders' capacity building programmes to enhance quality service delivery aimed at expanding tourism/ revenue collection;Guides moderation and review of departmental work plans and implementation reportsSupervise, mentor and appraise staff in the department for optimal performance and outputLeads profile of departmental resource needs, mobilize, control and prepare returns; andReviews the developed and well-presented product range which is reputable within the market and intended audience for the destination.
