    Description

    A medium size deposit taking only
    microfinance company is looking for a suitable, passionate, and qualified
    individual to fill the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO).

    Description Summary:



    The incumbent will develop and oversee the
    strategic vision of the company by managing lending operations, providing
    support and direction to staff in the Operations Department, developing and
    monitoring adherence to policies and procedures and will report to the CEO on
    quality and quantity of operations.

    The
    COO will be expected to:



    a) Oversee portfolio management and set up
    and maintain control guidelines and principles based on best practices.

    b) Coach, Supervise and consult core
    business and technical persons across branches ensuring they are adequately
    trained and operate at a high standard of timeliness and technical competence
    while ensuring compliance with internal and external controls.

    c) Monitor and evaluate the company's Key
    Perfomance Indicators (KPIs) across branches in terms of value and number of:
    loan disbursements, clients, Portfolio at Risk (PAR), collections and
    outstanding balance to generate a healthy portfolio.

    d) Produce timely, detailed management
    reports as needed for monitoring and management of all business systems and
    functions.

    e) Ensure organizational quality through
    review, update, implementation, and adherence to agreed policies, procedures,
    and manuals.

    f) Lead the management committee on product
    development and design as well as policy review.

    f) Lead the preparation of budgets and
    business plans as well as overisght on procurement and other logistics.

    g) Liaise and maintain relationships with
    all relevant community and opinion leaders, government officials, and local
    authorities.

    h) Oversee credit risk framework, implement
    credit strategies, policies, and procedures in line with the company's
    strategy.

    i) Ensure compliance with regulatory and
    statutory provisions regarding risk management, prompt reporting of risk positions,
    and provision of advice on possible resolutions of critical issues.

    j) Any other duties that may be assigned by
    the CEO





    Summary
    of Qualifications:




    This position will suit
    qualified degree holders, preferably in a business related discipline from a
    recognized university.


    A minimum of 7 years of
    microfinance experience of which 3 years will be in a senior manager capacity;
    computer skills preferably spreadsheets and understanding loan management apps
    and core banking systems, keen to details, implementation, follow-up and
    results oriented.

    Salary:
    An all-inclusive salary of betwen150,000 to 180,000.
