They have started 100+ companies, raised billions in venture capital, taken companies public, worked in the White House, invested in Facebook / Uber / Airbnb, run professional sports teams, are Governors of US states, and compete in Ironman races and the World Series of Poker.They've joined Athena to get more leverage, more impact, more success, and more time via their relationship with their top 1% Philippines-based Executive Assistant. They are world-class humans who want to get world-class at delegation.As part of the platform team you will be providing services for Athena employees as well as other Technology teams. The platform team is responsible for ensuring Athena's engineering tools and infrastructure are able to scale inline with company growth (~10,000 clients and over 10,000 employees by 2030).We are building a global team with a remote-first culture, so being able to work independently and collaborate effectively are a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES
High-level ResponsibilitiesBuild: Architect, build, maintain, and manage the digital platforms that power Athena.Support: Support other engineers in your team as well as employees throughout the business with their digital needs.Secure: Ensure the security, privacy, and reliability of our platform.Specific ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a passionate Engineer to help us build a robust and scalable platform for the rest of the company. This is an important role within the organisation, with lots of growth potential and opportunity to be involved in the strategic direction of the company.Architect, build, maintain and manage our core infrastructure and digital services as we scaleWrite high-quality, testable, maintainable codeEnsure the reliability of our platform inline with an SLAShare knowledge and collaborate with other engineersSecurity resilience; including identifying and mitigating security & privacy risksYour MetricsThese are the metrics you will own and optimize:Security incident countTeam satisfaction with digital servicesDelivery against roadmap datesAbout YouTo be successful, you will need a combination of skills and abilities. You should have experience building software and shipping it to customers. You've also probably got a project you love to talk about. The following experience and skills will be important for success in this role:2+ years working in a similar role and/or a degree in a computer-related fieldDatabase system design fundamentalsExperience building digital technologies at scaleAn understanding of Git, automation, and CI/CDA good understanding of security and privacyGood programming fundamentals, ideally in JavaScript / TypeScriptIdeally experience with no-code / low-code tools such as Zapier and BubbleA continuous improvement mindsetGreat problem solving and collaboration skillsAmbitious, quick to learn, and takes ownershipA police clearance is required for successful candidates and should be readily available once identified for the role
