    Description

    We are a dynamic event production company that specializes in producing music festivals and concerts, as well as boutique events with a creative twist in East Africa. Some of our more famous brands include Blankets & Wine and Africa Nouveau festivals, while some of our production clients include the British Council, The Australian embassy

    amongst others.

    We are seeking a driven, dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to drive revenue and ensure the financial success of both our festivals, as well as the event production arm of our business. On the festivals side, the primary responsibilities are to develop and implement strategies to sell tickets, acquire sponsorships, and develop other

    revenue-generating opportunities related to the festivals, while on the event production side, the key responsibilities are lead generation and closing clients for the business.

    Our successful candidate must clearly demonstrate a combination of strategic planning, customer service, and team leadership and will lead on the following responsibilities:

    1. Ticket Sales Strategy

    ● Developing pricing strategies for tickets, including early bird, VIP, and group packages, to maximize revenue while maintaining attractiveness to the festival's target audience.

    ● Implementing promotional strategies to boost ticket sales, which may involve discounts, competitions, and package deals.

    ● Monitoring and analyzing ticket sales data to adjust strategies as needed, ensuring sales targets are met or exceeded.

    2. Sponsorship and Partnership Development

    ● Identifying potential sponsors and partners that align with the festival's brand and audience.

    ● Negotiating sponsorship deals, which may include financial support, in-kind contributions, or marketing partnerships.

    ● Managing relationships with sponsors and partners, ensuring they receive the agreed-upon benefits and are satisfied with their investment.

    3. Vendor, Bar and Exhibitor Sales

    ● Oversee vendors, exhibitors, activation zones, festival bar operation and VIP experiential areas, and growing the sale of booth space and other commercial opportunities to businesses.

    ● Setting prices for vendor spaces and creating attractive packages to encourage participation.

    4. Team Leadership and Management

    ● Leading and motivating a sales team, setting sales goals, and monitoring performance.

    ● Training sales staff on the best practices, sales techniques, and detailed information about the festival's offerings.

    5. Customer Service and Relations

    ● Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.

    ● Addressing and resolving any issues or complaints related to ticket sales, vendors and sponsorships.

    6. Market Research and Analysis

    ● Conducting research to understand market trends, identify potential audiences, and stay ahead of industry developments.

    ● Analyzing competitors' strategies and performances to identify opportunities for growth or improvement.

    7. Collaboration with Other Departments

    ● Working closely with the brand & marketing team to align sales strategies with overall brand, marketing and promotional efforts.

    ● Collaborating with the production and finance department to set budgets, forecast sales, and manage cash flow related to sales activities.

    ● Coordinating with the production team to ensure that sponsor and vendor needs are met in terms of space, logistics, and other requirements.

    8. Reporting and Forecasting

    ● Preparing sales reports and forecasts for senior management and shareholders highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.

    ● Using data to inform future sales strategies and tactics.

    The Sales Manager role is dynamic and requires adaptability, excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Success in this position significantly impacts the festival's financial health and overall success.
