    Kisii County is one of the forty seven Counties of Kenya.

    It shares common borders with Nyamira County to the North East, Narok County to the South and Homabay and Migori Counties to the West.

    VACANCY NO. KSI/PSB/EA/16/2024


    The Municipal Manager will be responsible to the Municipal Board for managing the affairs of the Municipality in line with the Provisions of the Urban Areas and Cities Act 2011 (Amended) 2019.


    The duties and responsibilities include:

    • Implementing the decisions and functions of the Municipal Board as provided for in the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011 (Amended) 2019 Section 20 (1), (a-s)
    Acting on behalf of the Board of the Municipality in ensuring the execution of the directives of the Board of the Municipality;
    Be principally responsible for building strong alliance and effective working relations between the Board of the Municipality and the civil society, private sector and community-based organizations;
    Causing to be prepared, transmitted to the Board of the Municipality, and distributed to the public at least an annual report on the activities and accomplishments of the departments and agencies comprising the executive branch Municipality;
    Administer Municipality utilities and properties;
    Implementing national policies and policies of the County Executive Committees as they affect the Municipality;
    Acting as an ex-officio member of all committees of the board of municipality;
    Performing functions as may be delegated by the Municipal Board or by order or confer upon the Municipal Manager; and
    Perform other duties as directed by the Board of the Municipality.


    Requirements and Competencies for Appointment:
    Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    Be in possession of a Bachelor's Degree from a university recognized in Kenya or its equivalent;
    Have proven experience of not less than ten (10) years in administration or management either in the public or private sector;
    Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya;
    A post graduate qualification in urban planning and development from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
    Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Constitution of Kenya 2010, County Government Act of 2012, Urban areas and Cities Act 2011;
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrate a thorough understanding of socio-economic dynamics of the county;
    Must be computer literate
