CONSULTANT PROJECT MANAGER (HYBRID TEAM) - KARIMI INTEGRATED LIMITED (AGRITECH)

IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ERP SYSTEM

PROJECT OBJECTIVE: The objective of this project was to build, test and release an inventory management system for farm supplies.

PROJECT OUTCOME: The outcome expected from this project was to streamline the entire agriculture value chain from procurement, inventory management, packaging, distribution, financing, sales, marketing, financing, and invoicing, automate various manual processes, enhance decision making through better tracking and reporting capabilities, predict demand and reduce food wastage.

MY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understood the existing systems, processes, and value chain activities. Conducted a feasibility study, understood the project needs and benefits. Created a project charter for the project in collaboration with the project sponsor. Created a list of requirements for the project and defined the project scope.Created a benefits management plan for the project. Created a stakeholder register and captured stakeholder interest and influence.

Created an assumptions log for the project capturing risks, issues, constraints and assumptions. Created a project management plan for the project which included the scope, quality, risk, change, resource, and integration management plans.Refined the project requirements and the prioritized them.Created a project work breakdown structure (WBS).

I then defined the project costs, schedules, and milestones. Created a stakeholder management and communications plan. Identified the project team. Conducted a project kick off meeting to explain project vision and goals to the team members. Obtained project plan approval from the sponsor. Assigned work to the project team. Gathered project knowledge and shared it with the project team. Removed project team impediments, trained and coached project team members. Managed project procurements and vendors. Ensured project is executed according to the project plan. Ensured quality testing, inspections and assurance takes place. Obtained approval of interim deliverables from stakeholders. Reported project performance to stakeholders and the sponsor. Updated project plans and project documents.

I then measured project performance against baselines. Dealt with project variances related to scope, cost, schedule. Implemented changes using integrated change control. Monitored and controlled communication strategies and stakeholder management plans.

Created project forecasts. Performed risk reviews and assessments. Obtained acceptance of the final deliverables from stakeholders.Completed financial and administrative closure of the project. Handed off completed deliverables to stakeholders.

I then solicited customer and user feedback. Trained users on how to use project deliverables. Gathered project lessons and update the corporate knowledge base. Indexed and archived records.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES: The deliverables of this project included a successfully

deployed farm management ERP solution, an order management system, various automated processes, trained staff and users and user manuals and ‘How to?’ guides.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DELIVERED AND ACHIEVEMENTS

(i) Training Portal Project - Recording of end user video trainings on Camtasia, product demos, scriptingof BR Core Banking modules, BR AntiMoney Laundering Modules, BR Alternate Channels and BR Islamic Banking, Nimble Analytics).

(ii) Internal Staff Training Project - Training in Core Banking Solutions (Core Microfinance, Core SACCO solution,Core Microfinance, Islamic Banking, Analytics Solution and eVoucher solution. Follow ups to deal closures by sales.

(iii) Marketing Collateral Project - Content creation, compilation, editing and publishing of marketing collateral for all Craft Silicon products.

(iv) Lead Generation, conducting system demos and closure of sales as per given targets for the HOD Sales and Marketing.

(v) Partnerships - Meeting with and on-boarding potential partners for Craft Silicon and vetting to see if they meet stipulated partnership requirements.

(vi) Coordination of trainings, client/sales team meetings and demos for Craft Silicon banking solutions. (E.g MUPECI MFI Cameroun, Mercy Corps South Sudan,AFC Zimbabwe, OS Holdings South Africa and Kenyan potential clients e.g Paramount Bank, MyCredit, Amana Bank, First Community Bank, Safaricom SACCO etc.

(vii) Closing activities that facilitate sales, e.g putting together comprehensive proposals including financial proposals, presentations, demosand others as requested by the HOD.

(i) Project Manager - Access Control Implementation Project.

Implementation of Payroll System with Access Control/Time Attendance integration with a 3 in 1 system which uses card, pin and finger print. The successful project completion ensured that HR gets real time online reports of who came in/went out. I also achieved the goal where no staff member can log in on behalf of the other, avoiding the problem of ghost workers for SMS Africa Staff.

ii) Project Manager - Payroll Management System Project.

This ensured that the system was fully integrated with the access control system based on client's requirements. On project completion the system couldsuccessfully pick the data from the access control and calculates how much salary to be paid out. This made the HR work very easy and straightforward/ clear for the client on Project Completion.

TIME ATTENDANCE SOLUTION (TIME MASTER) - Overseeing Software Development

After Testing Phase, the software successfully achieved automatic attendance management, accelerates payrollprocessing directly from recording machine, User profile management to ensure a high level of security in system, easy to manage and schedule shifts, Enables tamper- proof, simple & cost effective data collection, helps to clarify employee attendance discrepancies.
