Experience
I am a highly motivated and dedicated Electrical/Electronics Engineering student with hands-on experience in inspecting, maintaining, and installing electrical equipment. My keen interest lies in IoT, Embedded Systems, and Power Systems and I am always eager to acquire new skills, network, and explore career growth opportunities. During my internship at Kenya Power & Lighting Company, PLC I replaced HT and LV rotten poles, conducted transformer and switchgear inspections, and terminated stranded aluminum core cables to improve equipment performance. At Kenblest Group Limited, I installed and maintained squirrel cage motors, rewound damaged motors, and installed motor starters and isolators. My experience at KenGen Kamburu Hydroelectric Power Plant included maintaining the fire alarm system, air conditioning systems, and rehabilitating the 11kV alternator. I have also worked on microcontroller projects and have skills in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, as well as FPGA design using VHDL and Xilinx Vivado. I am a team player with good verbal and written communication skills, and my interests include programming, microcontroller projects, and studying PLC and SCADA systems.
Education
I was a student pursuing a BSc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Light Current Option) at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. I had been studying at the university since September 2017 and am expected to graduate in June 2023. Throughout my studies, I have acquired a wide range of skills, including computer programming in C, C++, and Python, circuit design using software such as NI Multisim and Proteus, and FPGA design using VHDL language and Xilinx Vivado. I also have good verbal and written communication skills and have a keen interest in programming, microcontroller projects, and PLC and SCADA systems. In my past internships, I have gained hands-on experience in inspecting, maintaining, and installing electrical equipment, and have played an important role in ensuring the safety and reliability of power transmission and distribution systems.
