TERESA NYABONYI NYANGOYA

I graduated from Kenyatta University with a second class upper class in Mathematics and Economics in the year 2015. I worked in Musoni Microfinance LTD Kisii Branch as a Wealth Creation Officer for 4 years where I was able to grow to the level of senior officer. I acquired a number of skills such as leadership skills, team work skills, accounting skills, data entry skills, my skills and competency in operation of the various computer programs and packages were also heightened. Working with with a team , I learnt the great importance of teamwork despite having skill and tendency of working under minimum supervision. Working under my superiors and supervisors, I learnt the great value and importance of listening and seaking my supervisor's instructions to achieve the desired results in a given task. 

From Musoni Microfinance, I moved to ABSA bank in Homabay branch where I worked for less than a year and requested to go back to study a postgraduate programe in Kisii University. During this period I was also able to complete my CPA studies up to completion and currently am awaiting to be certified by KASNEB.

I was able to start up a business in retail sector, and through it I have been able to sharpen my skills in areas such as accounting, budgeting, entrepreneurship, time management, stock taking and updating, excellent customer care among others. 

During my spare times I have been able to take up short courses such as Advance Excel, QuickBooks, and I-Tax which are great complementary skills in my accounting and auditing career.

Currently am self employed working in my business alongside studying in Kisii University where am enrolled as a postgraduate student set to graduate end of this year. Prior to that I worked in ABSA bank as a Lead Generator for four months. During this time I was able master and appreciate the the skill of customer service, I worked in a team and I was able to appreciate the importance of team work and cooperation and coordination. I also appreciated the importance time management hence working within a stipulated timeline and bring able to meet the set targets for that particular time hence the value of time management. Following instructions and working in consultation to my superiors. I left ABSA because of the study opportunity I received to further my education.

Before ABSA Bank, I worked in Musoni Microfinance as a Wealth Creation Officer for four years since 2018 to 2021. In Musoni, I was able to acquire the following skills, good customer service skills, credit policies on issuance and collection of credit, issuing of loans and arrears collection, leadership skills gained through leading teams in branch and chairing Branch Credit Comittees, client onboarding and retention, business and home assessment visits and most importantly the art of  being panctual.

Prior to being in Musoni, I attended an industrial attachment in Gusii Coffee Farmers Union LTD for a period of 4 months and achieved the following: posting cash and non cash documents, writing the cash journal, preparations of trial balance, budget preparation, and balancing the ledger cards.

Currently am undataking a postgraduate programe in Kisii University awaiting to graduate in December this year 2024. Last year 2023 I completed my studies in CPA advanced level and currently am awaiting to be certified by KASNEB.

In the year 2015, I graduated from Kenyatta University with a Bachelor's in humanities and social sciences specializing in Mathematics and Economics, achieving a Second class upper.
