1.Senior Finance Officer, (Financial Reporting and Analytics), July 2019 – Present. 

Rafiki Microfinance Bank, Nairobi. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager,

 I provide strategic leadership in prudent management of financial resources and ensure provision of services to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with applicable laws and standards.

  Accurately and timely preparation and presentation of consolidated financial reports.

  Preparation and presentation of CBK reports and other statutory reports as per the set timelines. 

 Preparation of management accounts and board reports to top management. 

 Supporting and supervising junior employees in executing their roles and responsibilities. 

 Supporting internal and external auditors in effective completion of interim and annual company audits by liaising with the relevant personnel in the bank as a whole to ensure smooth audit process. 

 Handling the distribution of targets and afterwards reviewing, ranking and presentation of balanced score card (BSC) for branches and department as per set targets on KPI. 

 Monitoring, booking, reconciling of bank placements and borrowings with other banks as well as treasury bonds investments.

  Performing tax planning by ensuring tax compliance and savings of fees and penalties for the bank. 

 Ensuring correct and timely posting of finance transactions in the electronic system, monthly monitoring of all GL balances and resolve any mis-postings, proposed journal entries and audit adjustments as per the set SLA’s.This includes cost monitoring as per approved budget.

 Formulating of resource mobilization strategies and monitoring performance achieved against set targets, in measuring effectiveness. 

 Participate in budget formulation, analysis, review and ensuring accountability in resource mobilization budgets of all departments and branches, including preparation of financial projections. 

 Perform end-month closing process including downloading end month reports from the system. 

 Assisting HR department in processing of payroll and other related statutory payments returns (like NHIF, NSSF and PAYE). 

 Conducting tax computation, online payment and filing of company’s taxes as per the deadline i.e. Rental Income, WHT, VAT and Excise duty. 

 Ensuring accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning including proper strategic planning of the organization. 

 Preparation of all GL reconciliations relating to fixed assets, taxes, assets, payables, provisions, prepayments, inventory, leases, petty cash, direct operating costs balances, income, borrowings, placements, tax recoverable, bank daily transactions among others, as per set SLA’s. 

 Conducting statistical analysis on key business income drivers and variance analysis in all of the bank expenses. 

 Offering explanations on payments enquiries to suppliers/service providers and reviewing correspondence in relation to budgetary and financial matters. 

 Coordinating periodic physical verification of fixed assets and conducting monthly stock takes. 

 Monitoring the work in progress GL’s, maintaining new assets in the fixed asset and register disposal. 

 Ensuring proper batching and filing of all the processed memos and vouchers after being stamped. Achievement
