Medical Doctor and Consultant Program Manager
Nairobi, Nairobi Area

About Lorraine Homem:

I have 7 years of medical experience; clinical practice experience in Kenyatta National Hospital, Aga Khan University Hospital and Outreach care (emergency care management such as the Westgate attack as well as in-house and in-field project management, Seme and Soysambu). This is in addition to my medical and surgical degree - MBChB degree from University of Nairobi, 2010, as well as a MSc in Global Challenges: Health, Environment and Development, from University of Edinburgh, 2018. I also have experience in Human Resources (EOS Solar Company - Ljos LTD) and position of Program Management Consultant (Ambercare Travel Clinics- Karen/Kisumu, 2021/2022).

I am passionate about changing health care systems in developing nations, so that health is accessible to all. I believe prevention is the way to go, as most are unable to afford care. The environment we live in is a determinant of health, and therefore we need to take care of it.

Unbelievable fact: I have been told on many occasions by my seniors that I have an innate ability to concretely understand people’s inner hopes and support them to actualize it: whether it be work goals or health goals. Better said by the President of Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma Washington - Mr. Loren Anderson in 2004 when I was a pre-med student, “ Lorraine is able to read people beyond what they are saying.” I am able to guide conversations to always ensure a positive outcome for all.
