Allan Muiruri

I am Allan Muiruri Kamau. I took my studies in Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where I was taking Bachelor of Science in pure economics and managed to get a Second Class, Lower Division. I am currently pursuing Certified Investment and Financial Analyst at KCA University on my part time basis. I have worked as an intern in Norfolk hotel in 2019, after which I went back to finish my studies. I also worked with IEBC as a clerk  and Dune packaging company in the mounting and computer mounting department. During my period of my internship I acquired a lot of working skills both hard and soft; supervision, training and social skills.

• Organizing how grading will be done in the shift allocated among my workmates
• Making sure work is handed over well onto the next shift without any difficulty
• Packing nut buckets to places authorized by supervisor
• Helping sorters identify respective buckets
• Reporting any machine breakage 
• Keeping grading area clean

• Registration of new citizens who have attained voting age but aren’t in voting register
• Control of laptop used in voter registration
• Publicize voter registration activities

Accounts Intern – April 2019 to December 2019

Reporting to: Chief Accountant – Fairmont, The Norfolk 

Duties:

• Printing daily revenue summaries and ensure all back-up is attached.
• Reviewing discount summaries and ensure all have been authorized per company policy
• Print and review room rate variance report and ensure all variances have been accounted for and approved per policy.
• Reviewing on a monthly basis, the menu prices against the system to ensure conformity
• Producing daily food and beverage cost reports and circulate to management
• Monitoring variances in costs and seek explanations
• Review restaurant write-off reports and check for approval.
• Participated in regular spot checks in the restaurants to check for open bills and restaurant activity.
• Participated in regular cash counts in the outlets

       Participated in the daily bar stock counts and reconciliations

• Checking supplier invoices for accuracy and back-up of purchase orders, delivery notes, VAT numbers etc.
• Processing supplier payments by printing payment folios and drawing cheques and submitting for authorization.
• Doing VAT filing on iTAX
