I am an ambitious, dependable and motivated commerce individual adept with the knowledge of tackling accounting and finance operations, I am impetuous to explore avenues that will challenge my capabilities. 2020-2021: Worked at the county Assembly of Trans Nzoia (finance department)
Responsible for developing weekly and monthly financial reports showing analysis of the financial accounts. Identifying and recommending modifications to existing procedures or the production of new systems to improve efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing payments in the IFMIS system.
- Monitoring expenditures based on approved budgets.
- Applying sound principles, systems and techniques in accounting for finances, assets, revenue, expenditure and costs.
- Accounting for special funds, programmers and projects funds.
- Preparation and verification of financial reports.
- Carrying out bank reconciliations.
2022: Currently working at KRA (contract).
Roles and responsibilities
- Preparing BMS daily, weekly and monthly reports,
- Performing financial analysis to assess the quality of the data
- Facilitating taxpayer education under Tax Base Expansion.
- Participating in internal capacity building and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Resolving taxpayers’ complaints
- Maintaining taxpayers’ confidentiality.
- Filing tax returns i.e., Turn Over Tax (TOT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Pay as You Earn (PAYE), Monthly Rental Income (MRI), Corporate and individual tax
- Generating electronic payments (E-slips) for taxpayers on due date
- Recruiting and registering taxpayers with the aim of increasing revenue collection.
- Taxpayer incubation- to ensure tax compliance- by monitoring for three months
- Registering new taxpayers and approving PINs in order to increase the tax base expansion
