About Victor Mawira:
I'm Victor Mawira, a 23-year-old creative professional based in Nairobi, Kenya. My passion lies in telling impactful stories that reflect the challenges and triumphs of everyday life—whether through film, stage, or digital media.I am a scriptwriter, playwright, director, cinematographer, and photographer, with a growing portfolio that includes two documentaries, two short films, and my most recent project: NKT!, a socially-driven short film available on YouTube and TikTok. I bring stories to life with realism and depth, often using symbolism to express themes such as unemployment, mental health, mentorship, and love—especially from the lens of today's youth.Beyond storytelling, I’m a trained graphic designer, logo creator, content manager, and social media strategist, managing two active blog pages. My experience spans from freelance photography to part-time work as a cyber café personnel, sharpening my digital and interpersonal skills.Academically, I studied at Chuka DEB Primary School, scoring 368 marks in KCPE (class of 2016), I attended KIINI HIGHSCHOOL scored a (B+)in KCSE (class of 2020) later joined Kenyatta university (2021-current)and have completed professional training in all major computer packages, including MS Word, Excel, and database management,As a young psychologist and youth mentor, I am committed to using my voice and skills to uplift, educate, and inspire. Every project I undertake is driven by purpose to empower others, especially my peers, by reflecting their untold struggles and silent victories.
Experience
I’m a multi-skilled creative with experience in scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, and photography. I’ve produced two documentaries and two short films, including NKT!, a socially-driven short film that I directed and shot. I also work as a freelance photographer, capturing moments at events and private functions.Beyond film and photography, I’m a trained graphic designer and content creator, skilled in logo design, blogging, and social media management. I currently manage two active blog pages where I share impactful content tailored to youth and community issues.I’ve also worked part-time as a cyber café personnel, which strengthened my digital skills and customer service experience. I’m proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database management, which I use in both my creative and administrative work.
Education
I began my education at Chuka DEB Primary School, where I completed my KCPE in 2016 with 338 marks. I then attended KIINI High School, completing my KCSE in 2020. In 2021, I joined Kenyatta University, where I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate studies. Alongside my formal education, I’ve completed training in computer packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management, which I regularly apply in my creative and professional work.
