Robinah Nampeera

Ms. Robinah has over ten (10) years’ experience in transportation Safety and highway engineering gained while as a Civil Engineer with Uganda National Roads Authority’s design department and as a private Consultant.

I have particularly gained expertise in Road Safety Engineering, Highway geometric design for both major highways and urban roads, road safety auditing of preliminary & detailed engineering designs, ongoing and completed road construction projects, post-crash risk assessment of accident spots along the national road network and recommendation of countermeasures to enhance safety. She has also gained experience in design of at-grade junctions, road signage and road marking

Some of my notable achievements include the following:

1. Road Safety Audits/Review of over 1000km of national roads at Detailed design and Post Construction stages including but not limited to;

• Road safety assessment of the US$500 Million Kampala Entebbe Expressway & Munyonyo Spur (51.5 Km)
• Road safety assessment of 140km Busunju-Kiboga-Hoima road under rehabilitation.
• Road Safety Assessment of 319Km of Packages 1, 2 and 5 of the Critical Oil Roads in the Albertine Region
• Road Safety Audit of the recent Rehabilitation of the UGX 100 Billion Kyenjojo Fort Portal road (50Km), a major aerial route to the Western Uganda-Congo Border.
• Reviewed the detailed design (Junction Safety analysis) of Kampala Fly Over Project-Phase 1(Package 1-Clock Tower Flyover and Package 2 -Nsambya Road - Mukwano Road) 
• Reviewed the Detailed engineering design, Road furniture and Road Safety Reports of projects design of the 600 Km of projects under external providers. 

1. Highway/ Geometric design of Over 200Km of roads including; 

• Geometric Design of the UGX 100 Billion Rehabilitation of Fort Portal-Hima road(55Km) with Safety improvements
• Detailed engineering design of Low Volume road; Bukwiri-Kyankwanzi(28.2Km) worth UGX 51 Billion
• Pilot project for detailed design of 50Km of roads under UNRA Stations (Gulu, Lira, Arua, Kitgum, Moyo and Masindi)
• Completed the Detailed design of selected urban roads in Makindye division, Kampala including Kulekana, Apas, Kevina, Juuko roads worth UGX 31 Billion 
• Completed the Detailed design of Buddo(4Km) and Nabbingo(1.5Km) access roads worth UGX 20 Billion.

Robinah as a civil engineering graduate at Makerere University, has been exposed to best engineering practices in Countries such as South Korea, United Kingdom and South Africa, covering areas of road safety training in a bid to update to the trends in road designs and road safety. 

Robinah has extremely high proficiency in the use of the latest design software including AUTO CIVIL 3D where she holds a certificate from the AUTO DESK TEAM in Mastering Auto CADD Civil 3D & Revit. She competently uses modern design software such as Vehicle Tracking (for junction simulation) ARCHICAD (For visualization), KeySIGN (For road signage), KeyLINES(for Road Marking Designs) by Graphisoft, Advanced Road Designs (ARD EXTENSION), CSC PROKON, CSC TEDDS, AUTODESK INFRAWORKS 360 (3D road renders), Google earthPro, AUTO STRIPE (for road marking and pavement lettering) and MICROSOFT OFFICE applications ie Ms Excel, Ms Word and Ms Powerpoint including the Internet.
