Electrical and Instrumentation Technician/Security Officer
SECURITY ROLE
 Instrumental in the implementation of policies, norms, standards and procedures pertaining to military security functions while ensuring that soldiers under my command are trained, healthy, disciplined, of good morale and follow orders.
  contingency plans, supervise and coordinate the work and activities , issue instructions to team members during particular scheduled shifts as well during emergencies
 Successfully carried out security operations along coastal surveillance sea patrols to deter piracy activities and smuggling of drugs and contraband goods, make arrests where necessary
 Instrumental in gathering security-related information, analyze, collate and disseminate intelligence, conduct surveillance as well as take security operations and responses in case of accidents or incidents and disasters whenever called upon
 Promptly carried out proper security documentation and ensured accountable utilization of resources assigned to me.
 Screen, analyze and interpret all source intelligence information including Counterintelligence/ Human Intelligence, and regional analysis for the classified area of responsibility to have a well-detailed report as a strategy to offer security
 Timely assessed security situations, did risk assessment and analysis, handled investigations of occurrences and report on various cases, created security awareness as well as ensure the implementation and enforcement of the Security policies and procedures and participate in the amendment of the same
 Implemented security protocols and procedures and arranged for personal protection to important persons and VIPs as well as the top military leadership. Vetted and carried out background checks to facilitate the issuance of passes.
 Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas
 Conducted Inspection of security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
TECHNICAL ROLE:
 Supervises, plans and directs the activities of the Electricians, performs electrical work, and related duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
  Maintains records of assigned electrical projects including completion date, demands and equipment used and costs incurred if any. 
 Make demands, receives and distributes parts and equipment for assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of parts and equipment to ensure electrical systems and equipment can be repaired in a timely and effective manner. 
 Conducts a preventative maintenance inspection program in order to proactively identify and correct any electrical systems or equipment problems or failures.
 Supervise the contracted projects and ensure that cost and time estimates for electrical projects are met.
  Execute modification of existing electrical systems professionally when required to ensure that operations run effectively. 
 Schedules work assignments of electricians to ensure adequate staffing is available to cover all electrical department shifts.
  Always strive to attain an effective, professional working relationship with all departments.
KENYA NAVY FLEET(Onboard Warship Operations)
Chief Electrical Technician
 I was among the crew that sailed Kenya Navy Ship SHUJAA from port Vlissingen in Netherlands to the port of Mombasa upon the completion of her midlife refit. A successful voyage that took us 43days.
 Responsible for frequent checks and trial out for proper operation condition of all electrical systems that aid propulsion and ship habitability.
 Assigns, schedules, supervise and lay out electrical work assignments to junior electricians.
 Responsible for the operation and maintenance of ship propulsion, auxiliary systems, and habitability equipment contributing to ships ability to operate independently, up to task and ready for any emergency during the voyage.
 Sustained Repair, maintain, and service security  combat management systems, CCTVs, alarms, intrusion detection systems, lighting systems, smoke detectors, biometrics, and electric fences.

 Install, maintain and repair wiring, fixtures and equipment for all electrical services aboard ship and in shipyard facilities following blueprint and wiring diagrams.
 Carried out crew training drills and in real time lead in response to action station evolutions like firefighting, pirates attack, damage control, man overboard and resupply at sea.
 Conducted regular safety and risk assessments on our area of responsibility, quality control inspection and tests to realize ship standing orders.

 Monitor and maintain proper inventories of electrical spare parts and requisition replacements as well as the electrical system maintenance histories of repairs or alterations.
