ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT                                                                                                                                            

Responsibilities

  • Perform a pivotal role by serving as a bank contact, facilitating timely bank reconciliation and following up on outstanding issues with the bank.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in preparing payroll to ensure that salaries are paid per the employee contract and account for any allowances
  •  Enhancing accuracy in preparing cheques and making payments via EFTS/RTGS for members and suppliers.
  • Ensure proper invoicing and payment of suppliers with correct LPO attached to improve the organization's service standards.
  • Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns and ensure prompt payment to enhance compliance.
  • Ensure all statutory payments including but not limited to NHIF, NSSF, HELB, PAYE, are accurately processed and paid on time.
  • Ensure safe custody of company check books, legal documents.
  • Assist in audit process by providing information to internal and external auditors and answering audit queries.
  • Improving operational efficiency by handling office petty cash and reimbursements. 
  • Responsible for monthly closings, fixed assets, general ledger, account payables and receivables reconciliation.
  • Timely reconciliation of Agency transactions, Paybill, M-Sacco-Sacco, check-off and ATM transactions monthly.
  •  Assist in filing SASRA reports monthly and quarterly according to Sacco Regulatory Authority standards. 
  • Update financial data in database promptly and assist in monthly/yearly closings.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Providing support in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, cashflows and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.

 Ensuring proper filing and management record of all financial records

Bachelor of Commerce, Finance Option ▪ KCA University
