About MARTIN KYALO:

I am a proactive BSc Project Planning and Management graduate from Moi University possessing strong leadership, management and communication skills keen to pursue a career in Project Management and any related field with a focus to specialize in monitoring and evaluation at Masters level.

I am a completer-finisher who provides enthusiasm and fresh energy to my work mates, being proactive and enthusiastic in what I do has always been a source of encouragement. I uphold high standards of integrity while working wth personnels from all levels of management. I am trustworthy, a character that has been acknowledged by my supervisors in all my work experience.

Experience

As soon as I graduated, life was a bit tough on my side since securing a job immediately was not easy. After thinking critically, I said to myself, 'with the current economic situation in our country, one thing is needful for survival and that is food, I just need to be different in order to compete effectively.' I had saved some amount of money since first year that helped me to start a Business to deploy the entrepreneurship, planning and management skills I had acquired. This is how Ephraim Hotels begun. This business has given me an incredible experience as far as customer relations, management and planning is concerned. Waking up early and ensuring that food was ready by 5 am has been such an amazing journey to me, seeing customers come again and again and becoming loyal makes my heart glad. However, this has not been just a walk in the park, sometimes I ran out of money and stock for the following day has to be purchased and workers paid. It is these challenges that have taught me how to relate well with every stakeholder of my business. There was a time one of my customer ordered for a particular meal and a different one was delivered, he was so upset to the point of choosing another hotel. It was after I spoke to him and apologized on behalf of the business and offered him a free voucher the following day that he calmed down and ever since he has continued to be a loyal customer. One thing that has made the business to stand out among others is presentation. How do the workers present themselves? How is the food presented? What comes to the mind of the customers when Ephraim Hotels is mentioned? To me, impact through touching lives is what gives life a meaning.
