Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Maria Syombua Muneeni a remarkable individual who has overcome challenges with resilience and dedication. Maria is a strong and inspiring woman, dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

As a person living with disability, I have faced unique obstacles that have only fueled my passion to advocate for the rights and inclusivity of people with disabilities. My personal experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges they face on a daily basis. With an unwavering commitment, I have dedicated myself to raising awareness, promoting accessibility, and advocating for equal opportunities for all.

My educational journey led me to Strathmore University, where I pursued law with determination and enthusiasm. The knowledge and skills I have gained at Strathmore University have further equipped me to make a significant difference in the lives of disabled individuals. I have utilized my education as a powerful tool to challenge societal stereotypes and promote a more inclusive world.

Through my advocacy work, I have become a voice for the voiceless. Maria actively engages with communities, organizations, and policymakers, striving to dismantle barriers and create a more accessible society. My efforts are not limited to specific issues but encompass a wide range of aspects, including physical accessibility, education, employment, healthcare, and social integration.

My strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication have earned me the admiration and respect of many. I inspire others to embrace their own unique abilities and challenge the limitations imposed by society.   • As a young advocate living with disability, my professional experience encompasses research, policy-making, and your current role as an attaché for the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
  • Throughout my career, I have focused on conducting research to gain insights into the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.  My research endeavors have provided valuable data and information that inform policy-making processes.
  • In the realm of policy-making, I have actively participated in shaping policies and advocating for the rights and inclusivity of persons with disabilities. My expertise and dedication have contributed to the development of policies that address various aspects such as accessibility, education, employment, healthcare, and social integration.
  • Currently, as an attaché for the NCPWD, I played a vital role in implementing policies and initiatives that promote the well-being and empowerment of persons with disabilities. Working closely with key stakeholders, including government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and disability rights groups, to drive positive change and ensure the effective implementation of disability-related policies.
  • Through my professional journey, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities. My advocacy, research, and policy-making work have made a significant impact in creating a more inclusive society and fostering equal opportunities for all.
     

Education

As a young female advocate with a disability, my most relevant education was at Strathmore University. This education has equipped me with knowledge and skills that have helped shape my advocacy work. Through studying at Strathmore University, I have gained a strong foundation to challenge societal stereotypes and promote inclusivity for people with disabilities. This education has empowered me to actively engage with communities, organizations, and policymakers, and make a significant impact in creating a more accessible and inclusive society.
