About Lilian Salisi:

As a result-driven Environmental professional, I am looking for avenues to grow in my career as I explore roles within my line of specialty. I bring on board the following skills and competences;environmental Impact assessment,social Impact assessment, environmental audit,baseline data collection and  research, stakeholder engagement,capacity building,community health and safety,world bank’s environmental and social standards,occupational health and safety,environmental planning and management, environmental health and sanitation, environmental pollution and control, environmental and resource conservation and research skills. Led by my strong communication, team-working and organizational skills I have established a unique ability to steadfastly manage duties and responsibilities pertinent to the growth of an organization. Experience

Environmental and Social Safeguards Intern

United Nations Office of Project Services(UNOPS) September,2022-t0 4th December,2022

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare environmental and Social project assessment instruments to ensure compliance with World bank’s ESMF and UNOPS HSSE policies and procedures eg Environmental and Social Impact Assessment(ESIA) , Environmental Project Brief (EPB) Gender Action Plan (GAP)reports
  • Review and update HSSE documentation as needed, including Health Safety and Environmental Plans, Risk Assessments, Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs).
  • Collate data and information from HSSE Incidents and Near Miss reports supporting the analysis carried out by the HSSE associates. 
  • Review submissions on one UNOPS, Collect and support the preparation of monthly and quarterly HSSE Reports upon request
  • Assist with the filing of required HSSE documentation on the induction and training of workers, contractors, Implementing Partners, UNOPS Personnel, and other project stakeholders. 
  • Assist with the documentation of HSSE risks, issues, lessons learnt and best practices for continuous improvement
  • Review HSSE Site Inspections to ensure that observations are adequately closed out
  • Support the HSSE Associates with conducting research on HSSE issues and best practices
  • Support the Community Mobilizers with the management of beneficiaries including the selection, registration, filing of data, and completion of payrolls. 
  • Carrying out baseline studies  for Environmental and Social impact assessments(EIA) and Environmental project brief(EPB). 
  • Carrying out and Stakeholder engagement meetings for EIAs and EPBs before project implementation.

Project Engagement Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enrolling underserved communities in Kenya to Sunking's Off-grid solar electricity.
  • Taking part in the Kenya Off-Grid Solar Assessment Projects (KOSAP) by mobilizing communities to join off-grid solar energy systems( Kilifi,Tana River)
  • Providing green and sustainable energy to the underserved communities in Kenya.
  • Bringing equality and providing sustainable energy solutions to underserved communities.
  • Assessing the financial status of off-grid customers and approving affordable loans on solar products including lighting appliances.
  • Contacting off-grid clients and collecting financial data for documentation.
