Judy has been involved in complex tax issues and cross border structuring of companies ranging from structuring of holding and trading companies in tax friendly jurisdictions such as Mauritius, Seychelles, United Arab Emirates, Cayman Islands, BVI, and Bermuda.
Experience
She has dealt with a wide array of tax issues – ranging from, transfer pricing documentation and reviews, customs and excise reviews, risks & opportunities reviews, group structure and tax efficiency reviews, corporation tax, due diligence assignments, resolving KRA disputes and tax planning assignments for a range of clients in various sectors of the economy. Some of the specific assignments that Judy has handled include the following:
- Has been involved extensively in transfer pricing documentation for numerous entities across Africa in diverse industries;
- Has conducted risks & opportunities reviews for not for profit organizations;
- Undertook intangible property planning, inter-company pricing, drafting of inter-company agreements (from tax perspective), tax structuring, including holding company evaluation considerations for a tech company;
- Has been involved in formulating a Transfer Pricing Strategy for an international betting company;
- Has been engaged in numerous tax policy and tax controversy involving, she has helped clients understand the key policy
and enforcement issues and to proactively manage risks in order avoid unnecessary conflict with tax authorities; - Has consulted for the International Tax Unit at Rwanda Revenue Authority where she has conducted numerous transfer
pricing audits with a view of maximizing revenue collection; - Defense work - Transfer pricing defense with revenue authorities across Africa on complex transfer pricing issues;
- Tax structuring - Incorporating transfer pricing principles into supply chain restructures;
