Thank you in advance for the time you have taken to read through my resume and consider me as a possible future employee. I wanted to begin by telling you a little bit about myself, and the qualities I wish to contribute to your business. I am extremely goal driven, and need to be in an environment where I can grow, as well as helping to facilitate growth within the workplace. I am very entrepreneurial minded and have a good understanding of marketing and business management; I thrive in roles where I can input new ideas, and procedures. Communication and Respect is very important to me, I pride myself on being able to express my views in a clear and honest way when communicating with customers, coworkers, and my employers.
I am currently living in Kenya as I start up my own None for Profit organization which focuses on educating young Maasai women and saving them from early marriage and FGM; we will be providing sponsorships for young girls to young women entering PP1 up to scholarships for Technical Colleges. I have a deep love for Kenya and for the Maasai, so I have been working closely with an amazing Maasai woman, who has been sponsoring young girls out of her own pocket for years. I am setting up my organization more so to generate more donations and give her a bigger platform to promote the work that she is currently doing, expanding the impact that she is already having.
Last year I spent six months in Kenya where I was volunteering my time to support a Non-For-Profit Organization called Hark Angel in establishing a project to build schools in Kenya. I have been volunteering my time with this organization for two years, and we have the vision to build 100 schools in the most under privileged countries in the world. I began my journey in Kenya on a self-funded trip, with the intention of building a team of locals and acquiring land to build a school. I was then able to present my project to the Hark Angel Board who approved my plans to build a school and safe house facilities in Kenya. My work with Hark Angel is purely volunteer, so when I am in the country I would very consistently and am open to extended hours to save for my stints volunteering overseas.
When I am in Australia I work as a therapeutic care worker in a residential setting for children in foster care through the organization Caspa. I intend on being a foster career in the future and opening my home to children in need, and for now I find a lot of joy in being able to help care for and guide the children that I support through Caspa.
For the past Four years I have worked for myself as a sports massage therapist, so I respect the effort required to keep a small business running, and the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with your clients.
Before this, I have worked as a Nanny, Tutor, Disability worker, in Hospitality and Community Service. In each of the hospitality and career roles I have working in, I always establish a solid relationship with my customer or client, to make the customer feel more comfortable and valued.
Working in hospitality for Seven years has made me extremely confident and comfortable as a Barista and a Waitress, with the Skills and Knowledge to; Manage Shifts and Staff, maintain a Store at a very high OHNS Standard, and Communicate with Staff and Customers. As for my time working in Disability Care and as an Au Pair, it was an amazing and challenging experience. Obviously caring work requires long and laboring hours, but I loved every moment, and every new challenge. I was very blessed to work with some amazing people, who taught me a lot about myself and about how to care for others. For the last two years I have overseen the Communication, social media, Fundraising and Networking for the Hark Angel Organization. This role has included Fundraising, managing sponsor recruiting, Writing the newsletters, and keeping the website up to date with new projects. I will admit that a lot of this has been self-taught. In saying this, I learn quickly, and I enjoy studying a topic; finding the life and intrigue at the heart of the issue, and then figuring out how I can present the topic in a way that pull our target audience in. I love creative writing, and I think this strength can be applied to marketing any product, course, cause, or topic.
