About Harrison Rware:

Harrison is a result-driven, performance-based Range ecologist, Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation specialist with over 14 years of experience supporting and supervising a variety of programs in Africa for local and international NGOs. Harrison has experience designing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and managing projects in agriculture, advocacy, women, youth, climate change and resilience, and reproductive health using mixed methods (RCTS, FGD, KII, Outcome Mapping, community mapping, and so on). I am equally adept at coordinating work execution, knowledge production, and ensuring that the M&E system designed is effective and efficient in generating data and information. Harrison is a detail-oriented, results-driven, and innovative ecological processes and ecosystem interactions, Monitoring and Evaluation specialist who has worked on projects involving R&D, entrepreneurship, and innovation development. As an M&E practitioner, I plan, execute, and support all M&E activities for the assigned project(s) at the CABI regional office. Kenya, Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Burundi, and India are among the countries where I have worked. Working with local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as ILRI, International Potato Centre, GTZ, USAID, Kings University College Canada, and Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, SNV, UNDP, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide, Farm Concern International, CARE, CordAid, and IIRR, among others, has been a highlight of my career. Rware holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Range Management from the University of Nairobi. 

Experience

  • Program Planning and Management: The ability to design, plan, and participate in the implementation and delivery of project activities by ensuring that all strategizing and planning involved in the initial start of its implementation is incorporated.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Having held a position in monitoring and evaluation, I was successful in; monitoring and establishing checking controls and ensuring they are in accordance with agreed established standards, tracking progress for accountability, growth, and enhancing future evaluations, and analyzing data to look for trends and key performance indicators.
  • Capacity Development: Extensive experience coordinating, supervising, and managing capacity-building activities among project partners, project managers, and colleagues. 
  • Training and Capacity Building: I contributed to the design and implementation of capacity-building activities for project staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Partnerships/ Donor management: I am articulate and diplomatic, with the ability to manage multi-agency partnerships and translate contextual needs into win-win opportunities for partners. 
  • Organization and planning: I pay close attention to detail, report accurately, and have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • People Management: I have prior experience increasing organizational effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching, training, and evaluating management team job results to ensure productivity.
  • Database Management: I have acquired expertise and experience in database management, which included; Experience with data cleaning and transformation, as well as data exploration techniques
  • Report Writing: I am skilled at creating customized reports, emphasizing main findings and key points, and effectively communicating the results to end users both orally and in writing.
  • Technical knowledge on range management with a deep understanding of rangeland ecosystems, including the plants, animals, and soils that make up these ecosystems and how these resources interact. I am also familiar. with the latest management practices related to rangeland conservation and sustainable use.
  • Nature based Expert. I am experience designing, implementing, and evaluating nature-based solutions in a variety of contexts and with strong interdisciplinary background, as nature-based solutions often require collaboration across multiple disciplines to be effective
