4.0. Kitui and Matuu Town Last Mile Connectivity of Water and Sanitation Works: Inspector of Works

  Key Responsibilities;

• Designing of Kitui sanitary sewer lines including supervising engineering survey, layout establishment, sludge discharge computation, pipe sizing and generation of plan and profiles 
• Generation of pipelines plan and profiles for the project.
• Supervision of installation of water supply pipelines and sanitary sewer system including excavation, compaction, pipe laying and backfilling, manhole steel fixing and casting.
• Carrying out assessment for rehabilitation of existing Kitui town trunk sewers 
• Conducting materials in-situ tests and sampling of materials for testing 
• Enforcing all safety regulations on the construction site to ensure that all activities are executed safely.
• Performing measurement of works for the preparation of payment certificates.
• Consultant staff in charge of site; coordinating all activities in RE’s office and on site, liaising with the community and the contractor, managing staff, assigning duties to the juniors and reporting to the resident engineer. 
• Receiving and approving of request for approval (RFA) form from the contractor’s staff before execution of works.
• Supervision of construction of water treatment plant including the study and interpretation of technical drawings particularly setting out, excavation, foundation preparation, steel fixing and concrete works.
• Supervision of boreholes drilling: drilling, casing, test pumping and recovery tests of the boreholes for the project.
• Consultant staff in charge of concrete quality; Supervising lab tests on the materials including grading, concrete design mixes and cube crushing.  Also supervising all stages of concrete casting including computing concrete mix ratios, performing slump tests and casting concrete and concrete cubes.
• Supervision of construction of concrete and masonry water tanks.
• Supervision of engineering survey for the project.
• Collecting technical site information for preparations of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the client and filling inspectors daily report for the project.

Key Responsibilities;

• Review of geotechnical and survey reports for the dam.
• Conducting preliminary design
• Involved in preliminary and detailed design of the dam embankment and its components; core trench and the spillway sizing.
• Involved in the generation of drawings; longitudinal, plane and the cross sections of the dam, reservoir and the spillway.

6.0. Construction supervision of Wei Wei Irrigation Development Project, West Pokot County, project Intern

Key Responsibilities;

• Conducting feasibility studies in the implementation of Wei Wei Irrigation Development Project, Phase III
• Quality control in repair and maintenance of water intake. 
• In charge of material quality used in site; cement, sand, ballast, hardcore and steel bars. Also supervising all stages of concrete casting including deducing mix ratios, performing slump tests and concrete cubes, and steel fixing.
• Hydraulic monitoring, repair and maintenance of pipes, air valves and washouts of water pipeline system. Supervising pipe and the sprinklers repairs.
