Francis Opiyo

I an currently working for Geothermal Development Company  as a senior environmental scientist. I am part of the Project Implementation Team for the Baringo-Silali geothermal project. I have gained experience in Renewable project management, climate adaptation programs as well as climate change project financing. Additionally I possesses Knowledge and skills in preparing and implementing social action plans, budgeting, monitoring and evaluating renewable energy projects.

I am experienced in Geothermal energy exploration, emergency preparedness, fire safety and first aid. I also posses vast knowledge in Environment law and Environmental Impact Assessment/ Audit studies  as well as ISO processes and work procedures under Quality management systems ISO 9001: 2015 and Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2015.

I hold a Master of science in Environment and Natural Resources from the Makerere University in Uganda and a Bachelor degree in Wildlife management and conservation from the University of Nairobi in Kenya
