About Fareed Khimani :
Born in Exeter in the United Kingdom to Kenyan mother Yasmin and Tanzanian father Diamond, Fareed spent up until the age of 8 in the UK before moving back to Kenya for a few years.
The family then moved to Saint Augustine, Florida in the USA where Fareed attended junior high school and high school, before moving to Jacksonville Florida to attend the University of North Florida at the age of 18.
An avid basketball and American football player, Fareed played on intermural teams for both sports in University.
Fareed majored in Journalism with a minor in religion and marketing and graduated with honours before moving to Atlanta for a few years as a head bar tender for The Rockbottom Brewery.
In 2000, Fareed made the decision to move back to Kenya and got a job almost immediately at Capital FM as a sports presenter, before becoming one half of the morning duo of Capital Breakfast.
His first big break in television came in 2003 as the Kenyan presenter for Big Brother Africa, after which he was cast on Mnet’s Studio 53 as the Kenyan host, where he remained for 7 seasons.
During that time, Fareed went abroad to Brighton in the UK to get his associates degree from The Brighton Film School, following which he returned and opened Nusu-Nusu Productions with his good friend Mark Moss. Fareed is an award winning director and producer and has worked across all formats including, travel, lifestyle, food, digital and tcv productions.
In his free time, Fareed loves to gym and travel when he can. Still on radio in the morning, media is in his blood as Fareed spends most of his days immersed in television and radio and this is what he loves.
