Erick Were

As a passionate animal nutritionist, my aspiration is to see a world that embraces proper animal health and nutrition. My intention is to spearhead the appropriate distribution of healthy animal nutritional products locally and internationally. I also aspire to spearhead more research and development in animal health, nutrition, and management in Kenya and the rest of the world. Having acquired the necessary skills, I believe I have what it takes to be part of a team that emphasizes enlightening the world as a whole about proper animal nutrition, health, and welfare.

• A passionate animal nutritionist up to the postgraduate level.
• Studied Bachelor of Science in Animal Health, Production, and Processing at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
• Went for a postgraduate diploma in advanced animal nutrition at AICAT in Southern Israel. I worked directly with different Israeli farmers as part of my external attachment and side hustle.

1. I worked as a pet nutritionist, general manager, sales manager, and production manager at Gourmet Foods International where I learned product development, marketing, and sales of new products and services.
2. I attended the East African Youth Leadership and Citizenship program from 6th to 19th December 2009 in Muthaiga-Nairobi. From this leadership program, I learned what makes an effective leader and how I can become one in my generation.
3. I served as the Chairman of the Christian Union at Chavakali High School.
4. I participated in the JKUAT Christian Union Environmental Day on 24/03/2012. During this day, I learned the importance of environmental conservation and service to society.
5. I participated in the BTL’s 10 KM run for the Bibleless on 5th March 2016 at Uhuru Gardens to collect funds for Bible translation to local languages.
6. I served as a chief usher in the JKUAT Christian Union during the 2013/2014 academic year.
