About Erick Koros:

I am a young enthusiastic and focused Operations Director with fifteen years experience working at different capacities. I graduated from Moi University with a bachelor science in Information Science and later advanced to Catholic University of Eastern Africa to undertake my Masters in Development Studies. Currently I am finalizing a masters program in Communication Science. I first got into the industry working as systems administrator for Lyle Kenya for two years. There I provided systems support with interdepartmental communication, helped in managing schedules, and maintained the digital filing system.

After that, I worked as a part time lecturer at Moi University lecturing first and second year students for two years. Later on i moved to work with Nandi County Government as a legislator within the assembly representing the youths of the county for a period of five years. During this period, my roles exposed me to work closely with government officials, civil societies, youth led groups, Non Government organizations and learning institutions, There, I managed to push several motions and bills that touched on the marginalized population and made me be a good listener and problem solver. 

I moved to work with Dronex Company Limited as an Operations Director for five years. Here my main role was administrative and I personally managed teams and made sure everything went smoothly in terms of business goals, deadlines, logistics, budget, human resource and communications.

  • My main responsibility as an Operation Director was to implement and ensure that the right processes and practices across the organization are followed.
  • To oversee formulation of good strategy that will make the organization have an edge over other organizations
  • To ensure that the organization achieves gradual improvement in performance and social focus and develop social teams .
  • To advise and assist in procuring material and resources and securing compliance.

Member of County Assembly

Nandi County Government / Kapsabet / May 2013 - Aug 2017

  • To work closely with the community so as to identify issues that need government attention and represent them for funding.
  • To make any laws that are necessary for the effective performance of the functions and exercise of the powers of the County Government under the Fourth Schedule.
  • To exercise oversight role over the County Executive Committees and other County Executive organs while respecting the principle of the separation of powers.
  • To receive and approve plans and policies for the management and exploitation of the county’s resources;
  • To approve development and management of the County Governments infrastructure and institutions.
  • Approve the budget and expenditure of the County Government in accordance with Article 207, the legislation contemplated in Article 220(2) and Articles 201 and 203 of the Constitution.
  • Approve the borrowing by the County Government in accordance with Article 212 of the Constitution.
  • To vet and approve nominees for appointment to county public offices as may be provided in law.
  • To participate in the removal of key officers such as Governor, Speaker, County executives and County Public Service Board
