Responsibilities

• Support the HSE Manager and team with planning, coordinating and implementing of effective HSE policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that the department objectives are met
• Trainings: Perform daily site Tool Box meetings, Site Induction to new worker, visitors and subcontractors, Emergency response systems, Fire prevention and protection, First Aid, Work at height.
• Audits: Carrying out regular workplace health , safety inspections and audits  for compliance with OHSAS 18001and client specification
• Developing and Record keeping: Work Permits, equipment inspection certification, HSE audits, inspections, daily reports, 
• Site Walk inspection ensuring follow- up and rectification of detected irregularities, unsafe acts/ practices and unsafe conditions.
• Risk assessments/JSA:  Developing both generic and on site Job Safety Analysis on engineering procedures for approval by client-Kenya pipeline and on site Job Safety Analysis for clients permits
• PTW: Initiating & closing Specialized work permits/JSA for work is conducted that may adversely affect health, environment, safety, efficiency 
• Incident/accident investigation and reporting: Investigate and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Report, prepare/submit lessons learned to the HSE Manager for promulgation to the management
• Waste management: Waste disposal licensing by NEMA and County councils the project is cutting across, waste tracking documentation for human waste, solid waste and kitchen waste for compliance
• Fire prevention and protection: Fire extinguisher/fire blankets/trolleys distribution by suitability, Coordinating fire drill and emergency procedures, coordinating  fire extinguisher servicing

Responsibilities

• Industrial effluent inspection and monitoring for compliance with EMCA and Water Act, Nairobi Industrial Area.
• Internal Environmental Audit, Health and safety audits (NCWSC ).
• Review of all Nairobi Area Environmental Impact Assessments from NEMA on water and sewer.
• Handling sewer licensing clients ranging from personal licensing of exhaust tracks to industrial licensing to compile, Maintaining industries’ effluent inspection and licensing data base.
• Collection of industries’ effluent samples for laboratory analysis.
• ‘Kazi kwa Vijana’ initiative NCWSC section supervisor on The Rehabilitation of the Nairobi Main Sewer Trunk (Westland region-Gathanga area and James Gichuru road), involved simple accounting: quoting, budgeting, accounting for payments, supervising construction materials in and out the stores.
