Denis Owiti

I have extensive experience in data management, statistical analysis, and research coordination within the health sector. I currently serve as a Data Coordinator at Aga Khan University Hospital and a Project Specialist for the UZIMA-DS project, where I oversee data processes, coordinate research activities, and support AI/ML model development for maternal, child, and mental health outcomes. Previously, I have contributed to projects on COVID-19 vaccination, maternal and child health, and food fortification. My expertise spans tools such as R, Stata, SPSS, and Power BI, and I have a strong foundation in monitoring and evaluation, implementation research, and data-driven decision-making.

I hold a Masters Degree of Science in Statistic,Bachelor’s degree in Statistics with computing in data analysis, biostatistics, and research methods and a post-graduate diploma in monitoring and evaluation. I have also completed advanced professional courses in R programming, SPSS, STATA, and Power BI for data visualization and analytics. Additionally, I have undertaken specialized training in AI and machine learning applications in health research through the UZIMA-DS project at Aga Khan University. These educational experiences have equipped me with strong analytical, computational, and research skills relevant to bioinformatics and data-driven public health research.
