Health and Safety: I have an excellent understanding of the health and safety issues in the
laboratory. These include emergency procedures.
 Laboratory Skills: Able to bio-prospect and screen for microbes in the environment; Able to conduct
bio-assays tests on micro-organisms Knowledgeable in a variety of laboratory techniques and how the
equipment operates.
 Analytical Skills: Recognizes areas of weaknesses requiring improvements and makes
recommendations to the management for consideration, approval, and implementation.
 Communication skills: I am an excellent communicator who effectively conveys information both
verbally and in writing. I am also a keen listener and give prompt feedback.
 Planning and Organizing: Ability to identify and prioritize activities and assignments, make
necessary adjustments as required; foresee risks, and allow for contingencies when planning.
 Teamwork: Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute
expertise and follow any directives at appropriate times.
 ICT Competence: Good command of Microsoft Office tools, word processing, data handling and
processing, presentation, operating systems, and the internet. 
 Knowledgeable of current developments in the diagnosis of infectious diseases including molecular
methods.
 Knowledge in strengthening laboratories to achieve international quality standards
including ISO 15189 or in-country standards
 Knowledge of quality laboratory service and strong QMS skills and experience.
