June 2022- Present – Brooklyn Economic Consulting Ltd Position: Resident Supervision Engineer Responsibilities: 

• Conduct monitoring, evaluation, supervision and quality assurance for UNICEF Kenya WASH projects in Turkana County.

 • Supervise and Monitor Water Supply and Construction interventions in strict adherence to UNICEF, Kenya government regulations, WHO and the SPHERE standards. 

• Ensure efficient and effective program implementation while following the budget and work plan, including conducting site assessments, developing and designing technical plans, drawings and BoQs, specifications and cost estimates for infrastructure and water supply works. 

• Provide on-site technical assistance to contractors or service providers and beneficiaries during the process of implementation, including monitoring, controlling, inspecting and management of construction activities. 

• Ensure engagement, participation, and coordination with beneficiaries and community leaders in all aspects of programme delivery, to ensure community buy-in and ownership. 

• Document and disseminate success stories and best practices on Water, sanitation and Hygiene projects in Turkana 

• Managing subcontractors and partners involved in WASH projects to ensure smooth completion of the project. • Proposing recommendations on possible reviews on amendments to designs and schedules and creating variation orders. • Inspection and supervision of tests on materials to ensure quality adherence, thereby making approvals or rejections of materials. • Certifying quality of materials delivered on site. • Technical backstopping to contractors involved in the WASH projects by participating in site progress meetings between the client and partner on issues arising. • Conducting Defects Liability Period inspections on WASH projects carried out and producing reports to facilitate repairs by the contractor. • Collaboration and partnership agreement with development partners, county governments and community in WASH related interventions. • Participate in the implementation of improved water supply operational efficiency, smart metering, O&M and water supply sustainable models for rural water management. Achievements ✓ I have had the privilege of serving thousands of underserved communities by drilling boreholes, supervising WASH projects and providing life sustaining drinking water. ✓ I have engaged communities through sensitization drives to propagate sanitisation and hygiene in rural areas. Feb 2022- June 2022 – Douglas Projects Ltd Position: Construction Manager Responsibilities: • Supervised and delegated duties to masons, carpenters, concrete laborers, steel fixers, joiners, framers, roofers and other skilled and unskilled tradesmen. • Reported to the project manager and liaised with architects, engineers on technical changeovers in order to implement the original vision of the client. • Drafted plans and proposals for civil engineers, safety directors and county government departments. • Monitored construction projects on-site and made daily decisions about construction activities. • Met all construction deadlines and within budget limitations. • Computed and compiled the BoQs and cost estimates for all planned construction activities on site. • Liaised with the Procurement Officer and Store keeper for Efficient delivery of Materials to facilitate construction activities. • Directed repairs on defects to ensure high quality finishes and workmanship. • Ensured the client is satisfied with the project outcome and smooth handover of project to client after completion. April 2021- January 2022 - PowerGen Technologies Limited. Position: Assistant Site Engineer Duties: • Coordinated all construction and maintenance work activities on site. • Worked closely with all levels of management, artisans, engineers, procurement staff, accountants, Project manager and Director. • Exposure to masonry,welding, plumbing and carpentry thus gained practical skills in the aforementioned trades. • Monitored, controlled, inspected and validated the welding of structural elements, masonry work, painting work and concrete quality done by tradesman. • Planned and coordinated project scheduling, budgeting and administrative tasks. • Directed activities to ensure compliance with environmental and legal regulations. • Provided technical backstopping regarding structural variations, construction, and design changes. • Provided construction progress reports to management and advised on any critical issues arising. • Collected and reported data and results of the quality inspection performed, and test results. • To support on the quality control tests selection and interpretation of test results according to the Project's engineering and construction codes approved. • Read and interpreted architectural and structural drawings and communicated the information to the construction staff. • Motivating the construction workers for maximum productivity during construction activities to be carried out and delegated the work to be done to the different construction teams. • Ensured safety procedures are followed for the staff and the public during the construction process. • Topographic survey using dumpy level to ensure all structures are on the same finished ground level. Achievements: Successfully supervised the construction of a 33KV substation in Malindi Sabaki from excavation to finishes and branding. ✓ I was heavily involved in the installation of construction components such as the 33kv super structures, VTI and control room. ✓ Successfully supervised the construction and branding of the Retaining wall, perimeter wall and control building. Jan 2020 – June 2020 - State Department of Public Works, Structural Engineering Department (attachment) Position: Assistant Structural Engineer. Duties: • Responsible for design of Masonry and Reinforced Concrete buildings and drafting structural plans and civil drawings. • Prepared engineering proposals and reports. Coordinated teams and submission of drawings to relevant authorities for approval, liaising with other project consultants, attending site and consultants’ meetings, enforcing material quality control and supervision of works. • Performed calculations on all stresses affecting the building being designed. • Produced structural design drawings through AutoCAD for various government projects. • Prepared preliminary and detailed design of students’ hostel for Kathiani High School. Achievements: ✓ Participated in the planning and structural design of a 12 million three storey administration and classroom block contract for Mwiki Primary LR No. 12375/19/135 Kiambu. ✓ Worked as a structural design engineer of the proposed student hostels for Kathiani High School, Mwingi.
