About Allan Nyamita:

I am graduate with versed knowledge on procurement and supply chain i.e. warehousing, distribution and raw materials management. I have 17 years experience in warehousing and distribution management where I have the organizations in achieving the set goals.

Experience

  • Carry out performance evaluation for the warehouse team and other departments with other departmental heads on an annual basis and develop personal improvement/development plan and identify training needs, develop reportees and propose for their promotions when opportunities arise
  • Setting of annual goals and derive strategies on goals achievement, inclusive of warehouse team goals in line with organizations plans/objective (Hoshin Kanri deployment) and carry out Hoshin Kanri reviews with other section heads and review warehouse team performance, identify areas of improvement and come up with actions and monitor closure;
  • Ensure Kaizen/continual improvement principles are applied in the organization more so in the warehouse and participate/chairing daily work management meetings with other section heads to give update on the section performance (KPIs)/issues needing urgent attention and brainstorm for chronic issues;
  • Annual budget development and capex projects identification for the warehouse department to the organization and monitor and manage departmental related costs;
  • As a Safety, Health and Environment committee member, ensure all the SHE factors are well taken care of and carry out internal/interplant SHE audits and monitor safety/safe work practices and adhered to i.e., health, security and general cleanliness of the warehouse where good manufacturing practices is observed;
  • Raising of purchase request and stock transport orders and maintain purchase/interplant transfer orders in SAP; Managing material information and updating status of SAP, approve posting of manufactured products and scrapping of the products in the system (SAP);
  • Suppliers search, evaluation, advice on suppliers’ termination/blacklisting and even suspension in case contract terms is violated;
  • Ensure compliance with legal/relevant regulations requirements within the warehouse i.e., SHE/ISO 22000/GMP and identify areas for possible citations and close. Close areas of audit citations within stipulated time period (ISO 22000/SHE/KFA requirements);
  • Develop inventory module in conjunction with sales and marketing team and production department and periodic review inventory module based on changes dictated by market demand;
  • Ensure stock counts and stock take are done are required and ensure proper record keeping of all products, equipment in the warehouse and safe keeping of the same and investigate causes of variances in case there are any and how they can be minimized;
  • Ensure tools/machines are always in good working condition i.e., forklifts, trucks, jack trolleys, gas cylinders, adequate pallets etc. to facilitate smooth operations in the organization and facilitate for their services and repairs when required;
