Alicia Asimba

I am a Dynamic, self-driven individual about to begin my year off as a gap student after deferring a year from Kent University in the UK where I hoped to study law in September 2023. Upon consideration, I decided to join Strathmore University in Kenya in July 2023. In my year off, I aspire to have a productive year ahead, hoping to gain more soft skills to have a variety of experiences in different parts of the working world and gain some more experience in life before I adventure into university. Additionally, my profound passion for music has aided me in having a key eye for detail. By mastering the Cello and Violin  I hope to inspire people with my innate love for music. 

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

COOTOW AND ASSOCIATES, NAIROBI       FROM:  28th June 2021         TO-9th July 2021. 

POSITION: INTERN

Under the guidance of Attorney Lenin Awino and Eva Kahiti, I had a more hands-on experience as I sat in for hearings, did research, and attended a court decision for a case I had been studying. I learned to decipher large amounts of information while remembering all the key points. I also learned how to do basic office tasks such as filing, photocopying and printing

COULSON HARNEY ADVOCATES (BOWMANS) NAIROBI   FROM  8th July 2019 TO 13th July 2019. 

I learned self-management because I was entrusted with taking notes for my mentor in court and helping her be in 2 places at once.

KUMON LEARNING CENTER, KILIMANI, NAIROBI   JULY 2017

• I acquired communication skills at Kumon as I tried to help young students understand their mathematical errors. At Kumon, I was also able to learn time management skills as all the exercises had to be marked in a short time span of 2 minutes, so I had to learn how to focus and deliver work on time.
