    JOB TITLE:

    LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST ASSISTANT


    UniQare Medical Laboratories wishes strengthen its Nairobi Branch operations by recruiting a Laboratory Technologist Assistant to carry out Medical and Laboratory Tests.


    JOB OVERVIEW

    The Laboratory Technologist Assistant will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring the efficient operation of laboratory equipment.

    The role will involve maintaining quality control, adhering to safety protocols and supporting diagnostic or research processes.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    1) Sample Collection & Preparation


    • Receive, label, and prepare samples for testing.
    • Follow standardized procedures to ensure sample integrity.
    2) Testing & Analysis


    • Perform laboratory tests using appropriate techniques, instruments and protocols.
    • Analyze data, interpret results and document findings accurately.
    • Collaborate with scientists or healthcare professionals to discuss results.
    3) Equipment Operation & Maintenance


    • Operate and maintain lab instruments
    • Calibrate equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
    4) Quality Assurance


    • Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Document and report any deviations from expected results.
    5) Safety & Compliance


    • Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines, including the handling of hazardous materials.
    6) Documentation & Reporting


    • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all laboratory procedures and results.
    • Prepare technical reports and summaries for supervisors or clients.
    7) Collaboration


    • Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth functioning of lab operations.
    • Assist in training new staff or interns as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science

    Certification:
    MUST be Registered by KMLTTB

    Experience:
    Experience will be an added advantage.


    SKILLS:

    • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment.
    • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
    • Proficient in data analysis and computer applications related to laboratory work.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Able to handle administrative activities with ease
    • Able to work long hours with minimum supervision
