    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Engineer / Sales Executive – Fasteners & Industrial Hardware based in Nairobi County, Kenya.

    The selected candidate will be responsible for generating and maintaining client relationships, identifying customer needs, and offering tailored solutions through technical expertise in fasteners and industrial hardware.

    Daily tasks include preparing and delivering sales presentations, providing technical support to customers, managing accounts, and achieving sales targets while maintaining excellent customer service.

    Collaboration with internal teams and staying updated on product knowledge are key aspects of the role.

    Qualifications
    Strong skills in Sales Engineering and Technical Support to effectively identify and meet technical requirements.
    Proven ability in Sales and Customer Service to engage and maintain relationships with clients while providing tailored product solutions.
    Excellent Communication skills to convey technical and product-related information clearly and persuasively.
    Self-motivated, results-driven attitude with a proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to deliver professional and innovative solutions.
    Develop and manage a portfolio of customers in relevant sectors (contractors, factories, workshops, installers, etc.).
    Identify opportunities, prepare quotations and follow up to conclusion.
    Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate fasteners, anchors, installation systems and tools.
    Conduct site and client visits to provide technical and commercial support.
    Achieve agreed sales and margin targets.
    Monitor competitor activity and provide market intelligence to management.
    Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, orders and client interactions, and submit daily reports to the management.

    Candidate Profile
    Proven experience in B2B sales of fasteners, hardware, industrial supplies, tools or a closely related field.
    Strong technical understanding of mechanical components and fastening solutions.

    Mechanical engineering background (diploma or degree) is preferred, but relevant sales experience will be given greater weight than academic qualifications.

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in a relevant industry (Mechanical engineering background (diploma or degree) is preferred).

    Experience with construction and industrial hardware markets is a plus.
    Existing network within construction, MEP, manufacturing or engineering sectors will be a distinct advantage.
    Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
    Self-motivated, disciplined and comfortable working with targets and deadlines.
    Willingness to travel for client and site visits as required.
