    The hospital was established in 1937 by missionaries from World Gospel Mission and has evolved into a prominent teaching and referral hospital in the region, becoming one of the largest mission hospitals in Africa. It functions as a non-profit faith-based organization, operating as a ministry of Africa Gospel Church and collaborating with World Gospel Mission. The hospital boasts a capacity of 300 beds and delivers a wide array of high-quality and affordable primary and specialized healthcare services. By leveraging partnerships with various organizations, both long-term and visiting physicians, facilitated through Samaritan's Purse, offer Tenwek patients top-notch expertise in hospital care, outpatient treatment (supported by USAID), and HIV/AIDS care through the PEPFAR program.


    • Master's degree in Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Medicine (Radiology) or a relevant degree from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a recognized institution approved by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
    • Specialist recognition certificate in Diagnostic Radiology from the Medical Practitioners' and Dentist Council.
    • Radiologists who have completed Mmed in Radiology and are undergoing pre-KMPDC registration attachment are encouraged to apply.
    • Registration Certificate by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
    • Valid practicing license in Diagnostic Radiology by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council.
