    About The Job

    • The accountant will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial management of ITM Kenya. The role requires proven expertise in QuickBooks Online, which will be tested practically during recruitment. The accountant will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, statutory compliance, payroll, and financial reporting in line with Kenyan laws.

    Responsibilities

    • Key Responsibilities
    • A. Financial Management
    • Record all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online accurately and promptly.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Manage bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and petty cash.
    • Prepare invoices and support collection follow-ups.
    • B. Statutory Compliance
    • Prepare, file, and ensure timely payment of statutory obligations (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, VAT, Withholding Tax, Corporation Tax).
    • Handle correspondence and compliance matters with KRA.
    • Stay updated on Kenyan tax and financial regulation changes.
    • C. Payroll Management
    • Process monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Deduct and remit statutory contributions.
    • Prepare pay slips and resolve payroll queries.
    • D. Reporting & Analysis
    • Support the Country Manager and Regional Finance team with management reports.
    • Prepare variance analysis against budgets.
    • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
    • E. Audit & Internal Support
    • Provide accurate documentation and schedules for audits.
    • Maintain organized and secure financial records.
    • Ensure internal controls are followed to safeguard company resources.

    Requirements

    • Competencies & Skills
    • Mandatory: Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (will be tested).
    • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and accounting standards.
    • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting.
    • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently under deadlines.
    • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • CPA (Kenya) or ACCA qualification (completed or in progress).
    • Minimum 3 years' accounting experience in Kenya.
    • Demonstrated hands-on use of QuickBooks Online (practical test required).
    • Profile (Key skills, experience, and education)
    • University Degree in any of the following fields: Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), BA in accounting.
    • ACCA/CPA is an added advantage.
    • Excellent practical knowledge of financial accounting and of report development.
    • Experience with data analysis
    • Knowledge of office management and administrative processes.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
    • Positive attitude, flexible, and a team player
