Legal Secretary – Property, Banking - Nairobi

Job description
We are partnering with a leading law firm in Nairobi to recruit a highly experienced legal secretary to support a busy property, banking & securities practice.
This is a plug-and-play role for someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of files, and free up partner time by handling a high volume of transactional work with minimal supervision.
If you are currently a conveyancing/banking & securities legal secretary or transactional legal assistant in a mid-tier or top conveyancing firm, this role is designed for you.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide end-to-end transactional support on property, banking, and securities matters.
Draft and prepare conveyancing documents and banking and securities documents (including charges, discharges, etc.).
Independently manage files from instruction to completion, including document preparation, file tracking, and follow-ups.
Ensure all files are accurate, up-to-date, and audit-ready.
Support partners by reducing their drafting and email load and helping to stabilize transaction flow.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
Please only apply if you meet all of the following:
Minimum 4+ years' experience in a busy conveyancing/banking law firm.
Proven, hands-on drafting experience in property conveyancing documents.
Proven, hands-on drafting experience in banking and securities documents (charges, discharges, etc.).
Strong working knowledge of:
LSK Conditions of Sale
Ardhisasa platform
Ability to manage files independently from instruction to completion with minimal supervision.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days
You have taken over day-to-day conveyancing support with minimal supervision.
You are independently managing document preparation and file tracking.
The partner's email and drafting load has reduced significantly.
Transaction turnaround times have improved.
All files under your care are clean, organized, and audit-ready.
