Description

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Present menus and provide detailed explanations of menu items, highlighting specials and recommendations.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are noted.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders to guests' tables.
  • Serve meals and beverages to guests, adhering to fine dining service standards and proper etiquette.
  • Monitor table settings and maintain a clean and organized dining area throughout the meal service.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and promptly address any concerns or special requests to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Suggest wine and beverage pairings based on guests' preferences and menu selections.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and credit transactions.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including bartenders and hosts/hostesses, to provide a cohesive and exceptional guest experience.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant's menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and sourcing.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance service skills and stay updated on menu offerings.

Education

  • Certificate/Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Fluent proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong understanding of fine dining service etiquette and guest interaction.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse clientele
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, especially during peak dining hours.
