Job Summary:

The Tendering Engineer is responsible for preparing competitive and compliant technical and commercial proposals in response to client inquiries and tenders. This role involves evaluating project requirements, coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, estimating costs, and ensuring the timely submission of tenders. The Tendering Engineer plays a key role in securing projects and supporting the business development and sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

Tender Preparation:

· Review tender documents (RFPs, RFQs, ITTs), including technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and contract conditions.

· Identify scope, risks, deliverables, and timelines.

· Prepare and submit complete tender packages (technical & commercial) within deadlines.

Cost Estimation & Proposal Development:

· Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.

· Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations.

· Develop pricing strategy in coordination with management.

Technical Support:

· Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams to gather required inputs.

· Ensure technical compliance with client requirements.

· Propose alternative solutions when beneficial to project competitiveness.

Client Interaction:

· Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarifications sessions as needed.

· Coordinate with clients for clarification and compliance with their requirements.

Documentation & Records:

· Maintain accurate tendering records, project data, and pricing archives.

· Prepare post-tender review reports and handover documents for awarded projects

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Civil or related field.

Experience:

5–7 years of experience in tendering, estimation, or proposals, preferably in Marine construction, Infrastructure, oil & gas, and MEP.

Skills:

· Strong analytical and numerical skills.

· Proficiency in tendering tools and software (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, SAP, ERP systems).

· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

· Attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiarity with international tendering practices (FIDIC, EPC, LSTK contracts, etc.).

· Knowledge of local and international market rates.

· Experience with government and private sector tenders.

Working Conditions:

· May require occasional travel for site visits or meetings.
