About Virginia francence:

I am a project manager, educationist, and French curriculum expert with over four years of experience, three of which I spent working as a teacher in various organizations such as Jalaram Academy and St Josephs’s Chepterit. I have been responsible for the overall management and technical oversight of various teams in different capacities. My fluency in Swahili, English, and French has aided my work as a translator and as an education provider in Kenya, as well as in project coordination. I use my education-related training to advance evidence-based decision-making and consequently enhance the impact of development and education programs and organizations. I am an experienced multilingual project manager at Source Kubuni Company Limited. I am also trained in the implementation of the IPLS curriculum. Applying my bilingual abilities, I also work as a FRENCH – ENGLISH translator. I have been able to translate for different organizations among them Mercy Corps, and Source Kubuni where I leverage my translation skills in the translation of curriculums and IEC materials. My passion for French as a foreign language has seen me deliver customized and tailor-made French lessons to individuals. Most recently I specialize in French for Researchers. My training and experience are complemented by the extensive application of technology-based solutions during different implementation procedures and projects, as well as translation activities

PROJECT COORDINATOR - FRANCOPHONE AFRICA – SOURCE KUBUNI COMPANY LIMITED

  • Provide management and coordination services for the company in all projects covering Francophone Africa. 
  • Lead research translation of various research tools and protocols to French for use during the company research activities. 
  • Conduct telephonic interviews with various French-speaking clients Lead interpreter for clients from Francophone countries.

  • Translated training curriculums for both Adults and Young People for use in the organisation. Translated IEC materials for use in different training activities from English to French.

  •  Implemented the French curriculum for the preparatory section (Grade 1-6) in line with the international curriculum. 
  • Created appropriate French schemes of work for each class. 
  • Used both in-class activities and online resources and platforms to create a blended learning environment. 
  • Researched to develop of appropriate learning materials, language games, and other teaching aids.
  •  Scheduled feedback sessions with students and their parents and provide extra support for enrichment where required.
