As an accomplished Regional Grants Manager with over 17 years of experience in securing and managing substantial funding for diverse projects, I am committed to advancing organizational goals through strategic grant acquisition and efficient fund management. My expertise in cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, meticulous attention to detail in grant writing, and a proven track record of successful grant awards have enabled me to consistently strive to meet and exceed funding targets. I am passionate about leveraging my skills to support impactful programs and drive positive change in the communities we serve.
Experience
I am a seasoned finance, grants, and business administration professional with over 17 years of experience in both International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) and the private sector. My expertise spans financial management, grants and contracts administration, compliance, business development, donor relations, and strategic planning.
Currently serving as a Regional Humanitarian Grants Manager at UNFPA, I lead on resource mobilization, grant compliance, and donor negotiations to support humanitarian efforts in the Arab States region. Prior to this, I worked as a Grants Coordinator at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) Kenya, where I oversaw donor compliance, reporting, and strategic proposal development.
I have also held senior grants and finance roles at CARE International, Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO), Child Fund Kenya, and Reime Kenya, managing multimillion-dollar grants from major donors such as USAID, UN agencies, EU, FCDO, Global Fund, and private foundations. My achievements include enhancing grants management systems, streamlining reporting processes, strengthening donor relations, and ensuring financial accountability.
Education
Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Nairobi, also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), and currently pursuing a Master of Science in Project Management at the University of Salford. I have also undergone extensive training in grants management, financial compliance, and donor regulations, equipping me with the technical and leadership skills to drive organizational success.
