Tobias Obura

I am an organized and dependable individual successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals. As a manager, I value critical thinking and working collaboratively with teammates as we seek solutions creatively. As a teacher, I am experienced in teaching training, inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, data-driven instruction, lesson planning, lesson observation and feedback, goal setting, scheduling, presenting to senior management, decision-making, and collaborating with people of diverse backgrounds.

My ability to perform school leadership roles can be confirmed by my supervisors and colleagues across the four schools I have worked at. My longest tenure was at my previous school (Nova Pioneer Tatu Boys Secondary School), where I joined on December 16th, 2015 as a teacher of Geography and Business Studies and exited as Dean of Residential Life on February 28th, 2022 - here, I saw the greatest growth in my craft as a teacher, a manager, and school leader and currently at Brainston School, Kiambu supporting the school's growth into Junior Secondary School in January 2023 as the Principal.

I am a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) graduate from Kenyatta University (August 2018), a Bachelor of Arts (Economics, Geography) graduate from the University of Nairobi (April 2004), and a registered teacher in Kenya with TSC No: 802869.
